The new mayor of Vlora presents a draft decision to increase the organic staff by 10 percent from the first day of work
Brunilda Mersini won the elections with promises of basic services and urban discipline, but she began her mandate with a draft decision to add 140 employees to the administration and public services. The new structure requires an immediate increase in staff, while approval in the Municipal Council is expected to pass without obstacles due to the interests of the party network.
During the electoral campaign for the November 9 by-elections for Mayor of Vlora, the SP candidate, Brunilda Mersini, promised that she would begin her term by ending floods, providing uninterrupted drinking water in every area, supporting families in need, blocking unauthorized construction, and cleaning the city.
She was elected and took office on November 21, but on her first day as mayor, Brunilda Mersini began her mandate with an "emergency" draft decision to add 140 employees to her staff, in the administration and in public services.

According to Draft Decision No. 19625, dated November 21, 2025, sent for approval to the Municipal Council, Mayor Brunilda Mersini requests that from January 1, 2026, the total number of employees be increased with this division:
1 deputy mayor, 58 employees in the central administration of the municipality, 6 employees in the office of educational, cultural and sports services, 5 in the office of public services, 54 employees in the cleaning-greening service and the drainage board, 7 specialists, 8 municipal police officers and 1 sanitation worker only for the mayor's office.
The fact that the mayor of Vlora, on her first day in office, submitted for approval to the Municipal Council the draft decision to increase the number of employees by 10 percent of the organic workforce, shows that she promised these jobs during the electoral campaign.
The Municipal Council, with a majority of SP members, has no doubt that it will approve the increase in jobs, because their family and friends will be on the list. Meanwhile, Mayor Brunilda Mersini has already determined the people she will hire./ Pamphlet
