The trial against former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, was held today, October 14, at the GJKKO, accused of "theft by abuse of office", within the framework of a structured criminal group, in connection with the case known as "Sterilization".
During his speech, Beqaj requested that virtual minister Diella listen to the CDs of his sessions.
In the session on the "Sterilization" file, the debate between the parties began regarding the change of the charge by the judge of the previous session to "theft by abuse of office within the framework of a criminal group".
Former Health Minister Beqaj complained that the minutes of the previous sessions were incomplete.
"The minutes are incomplete, I haven't received them all yet. I'm in a situation where I don't know how I'm going to defend myself. I've requested the minutes from the previous court with insistence, but I haven't received them all yet, as I no longer have the right to send them to that court, because it has separated my case. I'm asking for the CDs of the preliminary hearings, where the accusation was discussed ," said Beqaj.
The former minister's lawyer stressed that his client is unable to hear them: "Where will we sign?"
Beqaj expressed himself by saying: "We need a 'Sun', apparently, because you have to buy CDs for a fee, so you have to buy the accusation. I will request the court to bring me a computer so I can listen to them, but you must order the Directorate of Prisons to allow me."
Today's hearing was postponed again to give Beqaj's lawyers time to request to receive the CDs of the preliminary hearings and to prepare his defense. The court decided to postpone the hearing until October 30, 12:00.
