The scandal with the increase in fees for obtaining a license is confirmed. After the project to increase the prices of driving schools failed, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services has made a secret maneuver, increasing the fees for all license holders.
The decision was made in mid-January, but it was kept secret. Today, such a thing was revealed in the media, and the General Directorate of Road Transport Services has now reacted by confirming such a thing. DPSHTR is justified by the fact that the fees have increased, but the deadline for the documents has been extended. But the scandal is that the decision was made in complete secrecy and no one was asked.
" The General Directorate of Road Transport Services, for several years now, has undertaken a series of initiatives to ease many practices and bureaucracies related to the services it offers. DPSHTRR has reviewed and indexed all fees and services. A detailed analysis shows that the extension of these services in terms of time, eliminating the obligation to appear at the counter, facilitating the transition from one category to another, as well as reducing indirect expenses (calculated here at 7,569,450 round-trip kilometers, 529,862 liters of fuel, 12,616 working days/year of time spent), cannot be considered as an increase in tariffs, but on the contrary, it results in an average saving of 4,170 ALL per citizen per year ", states the Directorate of Transport.
Here's how the fees change
• The fee for equipment with a driving license with a validity period of 10 years, from 3,500 ALL to 4,500 ALL;
• The fee for the driver's license for the over 65 age group, with a validity period of 5 years, from 3,500 ALL, now becomes 2,000 ALL, with a validity period of 15 years!
• The fee for the equipment with an International Driving Permit with a validity period of 1 year, from 500 ALL, which was 1,000 ALL, with a validity period of 3 years.
The Directorate of Transport justifies that 189,179 citizens benefit from the change in these rates, saving you an average of 788,792,150 ALL/year. It is also said that the decision came into force on February 5. Apparently, Bledi Gonxhja gave us a treat before leaving.
