The Court of Lezha has upheld the measure of suspension from duty for 11 officials of the Lezha Cadastre.
The court session took place behind closed doors and there were many arguments.
Former officials of the Cadastre Agency in Lezhë have considered the prosecutor's request for their suspension from office illegal.
According to them, the court had not decided the confiscation of the property of over 234 thousand square meters and its transfer in favor of the state, and in these conditions they could not act in violation of the law.
Albana Gjinaj, Marinela Tuci, Orstela Bardhaj, Sebastjano Gjetja, Besjon Ivanaj, Ornela Marku, Eglantin Lleshaj, Dorina Sulaj, Xhentil Gjegji, Vitore Lleshi and Diljana Prenga, are accused of not implementing the court's decision to confiscate 234,548 square meters of land in the area of Rana e Hedhur, which according to the prosecution body should be handed over to the state.
Judge Renis Sheshi accepted the request of the prosecutor Erjon Shehaj and left in force the decision to suspend them from office for the criminal offense "Failure to execute the court decision without legitimate reasons".
Meanwhile, 11 former officials have announced that they will appeal the decision.
