The head of Nisma Thurje, Endri Shabani, has commented on Transparency International's report on corruption in Albania as well as political developments in the country.
He said that the work of SPAK was the only thing that could have influenced the last year, as he added that the appearance before justice of important political figures has created the belief that we have a legal state.
Focusing on specific cases, Shabani said that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha chose not to obey the authority of SPAK and he was placed under "house arrest", but according to him "now he has come to his senses", referring to the respect of measure of prohibition.
As for the majority and Prime Minister Rama, he said that the latter is the man who violates his own party, the majority, the voter's opposition, because according to him "he has lost any kind of control or filter".
Endrit Shabani emphasized that the head of the government has used corruption and political power for money that has brought even more power, which according to him is the result of the degradation of democracy in the country.
"We have seen people who seemed untouchable pass through the doors of SPAK, important political figures. All these have created the belief that we have a legal state. I believe SPAK is the only thing that has changed.
Before 2005 there was a great deal of informality. In the country, bribery has been reduced to low levels. Every person under criminal prosecution is interested in delegitimizing the work of SPAK to stay relevant. As a witness to two cases that have brought high-level arrests, I believe in SPAK even though there is room for improvement. Their capacity is limited to dismantle 30 years of corruption.
SPAK is not perfect. Beqja's case was reported by us and about 4 years have passed, which is unnecessary. We had oriented with as much capacity as we had. As for the two standards, in fact the same standard was followed. Berisha rejected the authority of SPAK and chose another path that led to this path.
Berisha chose the path of battle in the media, not in court. But now he has come to his senses, this is the achievement of the new justice bodies. No one prevents him from taking the elevator and going down to the supporters.
The misfortune of Albanian politics is that it was made by people who do not understand basic political terms. Civil disobedience means the sacrifice of the individual for a public cause. Gandhi walked miles for a cause of the people, Luther King risked his life for the cause of his society. This is disobedience. They say to sacrifice our voters for the interest of the leader. In 30 years here, no leader has sacrificed for his own voters or his own people. On the contrary, the supporters have sacrificed.
SP is a man who firstly violates his own party, his own majority, and then violates the opposition, voters, and journalists. He has lost all control and filter. Is Rama the most powerful man in Albania because he was the smartest, no, this has been a degradation of democracy in the country.
Rama did not come as the strongest, remember when he came out with the red socks, he was not the dictator they feared. He used corruption, political power for money and money for political power. He sat down with Berisha after catching a weak moment of the other side with Gërdec. Today we come to what Transparency International says. When Nano was prime minister with the same party, he could not even form the government, because the Parliament was independent.
