Altin Dumani, head of SPAK, is answering questions from MPs in the Assembly, after reading the annual report of the Special Prosecution for almost 45 minutes.
Dumani was asked by DP MP Jorida Tabaku regarding the incinerator issue, while the head of SPAK also extended an 'invitation' to former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj that if he wants to become a collaborator of justice, he is more than welcome. This answer came in relation to the question of whether or not SPAK has attempted to obtain Ahmetaj's testimony, regarding the accusations he made in one of the television shows.
"Regarding the incinerators, we have Elbasan, Fier and Tirana. SPAK has investigated 71 people of all levels within the framework of these criminal proceedings, some are at final criminal levels, some are under investigation, some are under trial and other criminal facts are being investigated for this criminal activity.
Regarding the question of why defendant Erion Veliaj has not yet been charged, I want to say that the preliminary investigations have not yet been completed and are ongoing for the Tirana incinerator. Regarding Ahmetaj's testimony, his public statements are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
"For us today, he is an internationally wanted person for several criminal offenses. At any moment that a subject wants to become a collaborator of justice, he is more than welcome," he said.
