Journalist Klodiana Lala has provided new details about the execution of 58-year-old Renato Hoxhaj in a Vlora neighborhood. According to Lala, his murder is believed to have been ordered by a criminal group, after he began speaking under the influence of alcohol.
Lala pointed out that for the last three weeks the victim had filled his apartment with security cameras, raising suspicions that he was guarded and afraid of something.
"At first, it was suspected of being an ordinary incident. The victim Renato Hoxhaj, 58, lived in a problematic neighborhood, where the Sinomat family, who are enemies with Inez Hajrulla, also lives. Renato Hoxhaj is suspected of being killed at around 06.10 on April 27 by a person wearing loose clothes, a round hat and masked with an anti-Covid mask. He waited for the victim for an hour and 20 minutes and shot him with three bullets. He then quietly fled through the alleys and is thought to have fled Albania from the Qafë Botës point, as evidenced by the film footage where there is a person who does not physically resemble him.
It is suspected that Renato Hoxhaj was an informant for criminal groups and since he started drinking alcohol, it is suspected that they made him shut up. There were no witnesses to this incident. After the incident, Eris Mehmeti was arrested, a citizen from Tropoja who owns and provided the vehicle used by the assassin. He bought this vehicle in Tirana and registered it in the name of an 80-year-old woman. Since he frequents Dubai, it is thought that the order came from there. I do not believe that the person who ordered the murder will be found.
"At first, there was suspicion of a property scam, but it faded. Personal problems are not even suspected, because the victim turns out to be separated and lived with a woman with whom he had no problems. It is thought that he was the eyes and ears of a criminal group. Doesn't it seem strange that recently he had filled the house with security cameras ," said Lala.
