Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has confirmed that SPAK has been investigating Flamur Noka for several months, and is also verifying the luxurious "Range Rover" in which the DP's number two drives.
According to Berisha, special prosecutors have requested documentation from a company that sells vehicles, regarding a Range Rover type vehicle used by Flamur Noka. The inspection was carried out to clarify the manner of acquisition and ownership of the vehicle. From the verifications, it results that the vehicle was not purchased by Noka himself, but by Lulzim Basha, a fact that is reflected in the relevant documentation.
"I don't know if you heard or not, a company called 'Mektrin' was inspected twice a few days ago. Why was the company inspected, you ask? We need the documents for Flamur Noka's car, which Flamur Noka bought, a 'Range', make no mistake. They went one day, they said we don't have it. They went the next day, they said bring it out. What happened? Lul Basha had bought the car. It's a beautiful scene. As soon as the employee told him, sir, he never came to buy a car. He gave him the car details, he said that Lul Basha bought this car, here you have it. He didn't even take the documents at all. No. That the crime was supposed to be for Flamur Noka. But this is a real, fresh event. He said, where is your signature, Lul Basha bought this car, take the file. No, he said, I don't need it for Lul," Berisha said at a press conference.
The wealth investigation against Noka began in May 2024 and includes several criminal suspicions. The prosecution is examining possible elements of concealment of assets, money laundering and abuse of office.
In this context, Noka is suspected of not declaring a villa in the Lalzi Bay area. In parallel, he is also being investigated for actions committed during the period when he was director of the Board of the National Housing Authority in 2008. According to suspicions, he took advantage of his public position to distribute four apartments from the homeless fund in Saranda to his family members.
Investigations remain ongoing and focus on verifying the source and legality of assets, as well as decision-making made while exercising public functions.
