The vote count continues, although the winner is clear, and the loser even clearer. With more than half of the votes counted nationwide, the Socialist Party (SP) leads with a projected 83 seats, while the Democratic Party (DP) and its coalition have 51 seats. The battle is now on for third place, with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) competing with the “Albania Initiative” Coalition, followed by Agron Shehaj and Arlind Qori. Many old political figures, especially from the left, have been left out of parliament.
