Tomorrow it will be 13 years since January 21, when during a protest of the Socialist Party, on the "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, in front of the Prime Minister's Office, four protesters were killed by the Guard of the Republic, Aleks Nika, Ziver Veizi, Hekuran Deda and Faik Myrtaj.
Journalist Artan Hoxha told in an interview for Euronews Albania the tragic details of the murder of Hekuran Deda who was near the pyramid when he was shot dead by the guard.
Hoxha said that Deda had filmed the entire protest march with his cell phone, from the moment he got out of the van until the moment he was shot dead with a bullet to the head.
" There is a tragic detail in the murder of Hekuran Deda, he had come from Greece and was going to leave again. That day at the protest, he only had the money for the van, and he took out his cell phone, the only valuable thing he had in his hand was a cell phone. He has it on since he got out of the van at the train station and filmed his entire march until the moment he is killed. He filmed the moment when he arrived at Skënderbej square, he recorded the moment when he got on the platform, because he thought that the journalists and cameras were there and he was safe. What makes it more tragic is the fact that his cell phone is on when he is hit; the screen turns red with his blood, he falls to the ground, to the pavement. It is the moment that was captured, above it is the photograph that captured that moment ," Hoxha said.
