Our country has been affected by heavy snowfall in the mountainous areas as well as heavy rain in the low areas.
The Gjeoshkencavë Institute informs that today and tomorrow the snowfall is expected to include the North-East, East and South-East areas of the territory.
Snowfall followed by a significant drop in temperatures and frost can create various problems and difficulties in road transport.
According to IGJEUM, this afternoon moderate rainfall is expected in the districts of Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Korçë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër, accompanied by thunderstorms. Locally average rainfall is expected in Lezhë and Durrës counties, while weak rainfall is expected in the rest of the counties.
Torrential and high intensity of rainfall for short moments can create various problems as well as flooding in urban areas depending on the sewerage system in the districts of Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Korçë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër.
The rains will bring an increase in flows in the rivers Ishëm and Shkumbin.
In the North, East and Southeast at heights above 300 m above sea level, precipitation will be in the form of snow.
Tomorrow in the southeast precipitation is expected to be in the form of snow, while in the rest of the territory no precipitation is expected (as shown in the table, respectively for each county).
