Bad weather with snowfall and rain has engulfed Albania today. During the last hours, the situation has worsened, in some cities in the north and southeast. The thickness of the snow has reached up to 40-50 cm.

The municipality of Fushë-Arrëz has declared a state of emergency due to the heavy snowfall, announced the mayor Hil Curri.

The Civil Emergency Team of the municipality, he further underlines, is working with all sectors to deal with the situation.

The entire district of Dibra has been covered by intense snowfall, so it is recommended to use chains on the axes Peshkopi-Maqellarë-Bulqizë and Peshkopi-Kala e Doda - Kukës.

On the Korçë-Bilisht national axis near the village of Cangonj, a taxi went off the road due to the frost and ended up in the canal. As a result, two passengers are injured. The roads of the Korça district are passable, including Qafë-Thana, but drivers are advised to use chains in their cars.

In Kukës, the thickness of the snow ranges from 15 to 30 cm. The mountain villages of Topojan, Zapod, Gryke Chaj and Arren are isolated by snow and there is a lack of electricity.
