An open session has begun at the Constitutional Court on what is known as the Balluku case. The session is being held following the request of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who seeks to resolve the dispute over competence created between the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers on the one hand, and the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, on the other hand, regarding the suspension of the exercise of the duties of a member of the Council of Ministers.
The Prime Minister has requested the reversal of the GJKKO decision, following the request of SPAK, which decided to suspend Belinda Balluku from government functions.
Initially, the Constitutional Court decided to suspend the judicial decisions of the GJKKO, which approved SPAK's request to suspend Balluk from government positions.
A substantive review of the issue is expected today in the plenary session.
