After former president Ilir Meta severely attacked the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, it was said that his reaction was made as he is under investigation by the Special Prosecutor's Office.
But SPAK said today that until this stage it has not registered the name of Ilir Meta as a person against whom investigations are being conducted and that no coercive measures or any search in the apartment of the Meta-Kryemadhi couple has been requested against him.
The former Prosecutor of Serious Crimes and lawyer Eugen Beci, commenting on this in the show "The Unexposed", said that the law prohibits the prosecution from making public the name of the person under investigation until the notification of the charge against him is issued, but when an assurance measure will appear that the name has been registered on such and such a date.
" In Albanian courts, from time to time, prosecutors have been intimidated, insulted, threatened in the courtroom by criminals. The case we are talking about should be seen to be dealing with a person under investigation, or a politician?
The attack is absurd and is not allowed to any murderer who may be in front of the prosecutor. If the politician will make an intervention in the justice system for matters of principle, the content is welcome, the attack is absurd and unnecessary. It is an attack that exceeds the limits of the normal and is not allowed even for a murderer who is in front of the prosecutor. Such an attack cannot be faced in a democratic society.
If Mr. Meta intended to select the institution to attack, he was wrong. Today when you feel that you have a personal subjective problem, it seems that the attack makes you unreliable. Why was Duman attacked directly?
I call the attack on a prosecutor unacceptable, and I even call it unacceptable when a lawyer attacks him, because the prosecutor represents the republic. What Policans should do is not use different epithets.
The Special Prosecutor's Office by registering the name for a criminal case seems to be playing with human freedoms and rights. Reports and investigations are made by name. Do you think e.g. that the report on the CEZ-DIA case was made in the air and has no concrete name? This is absurd and is a technicality to the detriment of freedoms and human rights. If your name is registered, you as the prosecutor are obliged to hurry and investigate within the deadlines. If during these 4 years you have conducted investigations that led you to the names and the witnesses lead to that person, when will you expect to register the name?
We will never expect from the special prosecution that I have registered the name of this and that, because the third paragraph of the law that I quoted forbids the prosecution to make public the name until the notice of the charge against the accused person is issued, but when to make an insurance measure, it will appear that the name was registered on such and such a date" , said Beci.
