Former Guard officer, Tori Agolli, has made strong accusations against the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stating that he has never changed since the '90s.
Agolli stated that Berisha continues to remain the same political character who, according to him, "eliminates opponents" and still holds the Democratic Party hostage.
In his statements, the former companion of former Prime Minister Fatos Nano brought back the political clashes of the transition years, using harsh language towards the democratic leader.
Although he said he does not have a high regard for SPAK, Agolli insisted that justice should not have political overtones and accused the Special Prosecution Office of only striking "in one direction" by ignoring Berisha, whom he described as "the most destructive man in the nation" who has dominated Albanian politics through conflict and fear.
"That's why it's a scale. It has no wings. Justice has no left or right. Justice has no color or party. Justice is only hitting in one direction and is not hitting the most destructive man of the Albanian nation, Sali Ramë Berisha. There is an old saying of the Albanian people 'where there is a voice, there is nothing without'. I tell him to get out of politics! In his account, Agolli presented Berisha as the figure who, according to him, has dominated Albanian politics through conflict and fear, while insisting that even today the Democratic Party continues to be held hostage by its leader.
Asked what he benefited from during all the years he served under Fatos Nano and then during the change of power, Agolli said that he received nothing other than his state salary and reminded Berisha of a great truth.
"Only the state salary. Even if '90 starts all over again, I will still do that job. When you go to the grave, you don't take anything with you. You don't take what you stole, took, cut or what you gave to your friend. Berisha thinks he will take it with him. He will take nothing. The DP is full of young people, educated people. O Berisha, let the party move forward", he said.
Agolli spoke about the relationship between Fatos Nano and Sali Berisha away from the cameras, recounting an episode after the former socialist prime minister's release from prison.
"I accompanied him for the first time, when he came from the hospital in Athens, I accompanied him to his father, the late Thanas Nano, and he said to him, 'Fatos, what are you doing with Sali Berisha? He ruined your life, put you in prison, you didn't see your mother die.' Fatos replied; 'Look Bushku, I won't do what Berisha did, make him a hero.' Nano was an intellectual who was unjustly imprisoned. Fatos Nano was tolerant, Berisha destroyed his life and career. Berisha and Meta together," he said.
For Agolli, Berisha has not changed even today from the way he has done politics since the 1990s.
"From that time until today, only one thing has changed about Berisha: he can no longer kill you, he can't eliminate his opponent, because his age and his strength have declined," the former Guard officer declared on the "Studio Live" show.
