When asked what was done about those dismissed from the vetting process, the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, stated that they were criminally prosecuted, and some members of the Supreme and Constitutional Courts were also sent for trial.
He also stated that some of them have had their assets seized, which are in the process of confiscation.
Dumani says that SPAK is not indifferent to the decision-making of KPK and KPA, regarding the vetting process.
"The competence of SPAK in relation to the subjects subject to vetting should be taken into consideration.
We have competence only the judges of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General. In relation to these special subjects, we have proceeded criminally, we have also sent for trial some members of the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court who were dismissed from the vetting process, we also have guilty and final decisions. We also have property investigations in relation to these subjects, where we reached a decision to confiscate the property. Assets of the subjects we have accused have been seized and are in the process of confiscation.
The number of judges in our jurisdiction is small. The number of judges and prosecutors who have left the system due to vetting belongs to the First Instance and the Appeal. They are within our competence only when they commit a criminal offense that is our competence. We are not indifferent to vetting decision-making. The cases should also be referred to us", said Dumani.
