The high flow of vehicles heading to the cities and tourist areas of the southeast of the country has brought back long queues and heavy traffic on the national axis Tirana-Bradashesh Roundabout-Elbasan, one of the busiest road segments during the summer season, on Friday afternoon.
Many citizens from the capital have chosen the weekend to head to tourist destinations in the southeast, such as Pogradec, Korça, Prespa, Dardha, Voskopoja and surrounding areas, causing traffic to become heavy in the early afternoon hours.
In addition to domestic tourists, the increase in traffic has also been influenced by the vehicles of immigrants and visitors who are in Albania at the beginning of the summer season.
As a result of the high number of vehicles, long queues have been created in some segments, while drivers have been faced with slow movements.
Authorities expect the flow of vehicles to remain high in the coming days, as movement is expected to increase with the return of emigrants to their homeland for the summer holidays.
