The former head of the CEC Kristaq Kume commented on the situation in the Municipality of Himara, where Fredi Beleri and Jorgo Goro are already both in prison.
Kume showed the legal procedures that will follow, after what happened in the Municipality of Himara.
"There is no previous precedent for the situation of Himara Municipality. How to proceed after this is determined by our legislation. The mandate of the incumbent is removed when he does not show up for office for a period of 3 months, which forces the municipal council to meet and decide on the situation. We don't have anyone sentenced by a final verdict, neither Fredi Beleri nor Jorgo Goron. It may happen that even the vice presidents become presidents until Mr. Beleri's stalemate is resolved. Beleri must be declared guilty by a final decision in order for the process to continue. If Beler's mandate is terminated, a municipal member can also be elected mayor, the law also provides for this", said Kume in News 24.
