A van with an arsenal of weapons was seized by police in Tirana yesterday. According to Ervin Karamuça, this is a moving van that distributes weapons.
Karamuço stated that the van had been parked near the Myslym Shyr area for about three months, motionless and camouflaged with the logos of companies that deal with road maintenance.
"The logo was put in Castile to identify and to say 'come on, let's not touch these because they belong to so-and-so'," he said, adding that environmental surveillance was also used to seize this arsenal, in which members of the structure said: "Let's not touch those in the van for now."
"Who is this van? The police have been investigating for a long time. This operation was successful because very few people in the police knew about it. This is related to a SPAK investigation," Karamuço said.
According to him, the arsenal of a criminal group has been found, half of whose members have been arrested and the other half are wanted. He added that an explosive attack was planned in Tirana. The weapons seen in the photo were found in the van, as well as accessories for remotely detonating the explosive that would be used for an event that was planned by the police. However, the explosive was not found, "they could have removed it, they could have placed it somewhere else," said Karamuço.
According to him, this event "has directly changed the method we have known to date" for criminal groups, which usually kept weapons in abandoned or rented apartments, while now they have them mobile.
"I was very impressed by the logo used, but also the 911 license plate, the emergency number. So this van is mobile; they move the arsenal of weapons and ammunition where they need it, distribute the weapons, leave and come back here and park it," said Karamuço.
He added that the weapons are distributed for assassinations against specific people: "Take the weapon and go and strike."
"What we have discovered overturns everything we know so far, that we knew they kept them at home. Now there is a moving van, and even the number has an emergency number, to kill," Karamuço emphasized.
In conclusion, he said that this was captured as a mobile arsenal belonging to this criminal group, but which is suspected of being linked to other groups as well.
