The chairman of the 'Joint Movement', Arlind Qori, has stated that more work must be done to convince the citizens, especially the poor, not to sell their vote.
Qori made the comments in Euronews Albania, where he said that the citizens should be convinced that if they receive the 50,000 lek for selling the vote, it will be out of hand.
He also said that the judicial institutions should also do their job, to prevent the buying and selling of votes, which according to him, they have not done so far.
" As much as a political party can do, we are being taken seriously as we have been in the past local elections. Today we have the opportunity to convince even more citizens to vote for us. I see every citizen who sells their vote as a kind of personal failure.
We were not convincing enough to tell him not to take that 50,000 Lek, because it will come out of his nose. It is our duty to convince citizens, especially poor people, not to sell their vote. But justice institutions should also punish those who buy votes. They have not done the job as long as the vote is bought and sold regularly.
The buying and selling of votes happens in the darkness of private relationships, the other person comes to the house and there the vote is bought and sold. In 2025, we will have our observers to denounce anyone ", said Qori.
