Today, the new head of SPAK, the Special Anti-Corruption Structure, will be elected.
Adnan Jolli was the first to arrive at KLP.
It is learned that the other two prosecutors in the race, Doloreza Musabelliu and Elvin Gokaj, have already arrived.
Meanwhile, prosecutor Adnan Xholi is keeping his word as a candidate for the new head of SPAK. He summarized his work since 1997.
Prosecutor Adnan Xholi presented to the members of the KLP some of his investigations when he was head of the Gjirokastra Prosecution Office, a prosecutor at the Serious Crimes Prosecution Office and SPAK.
Among his works, he reported the crackdown on a criminal group that was robbing Albanians coming from Greece in 1997. Another was the uncovering of several kidnappings of businessmen in Gjirokastra, the same year, where they were held hostage for several days.
"I was appointed in 1999 as a prosecutor in Gjirokastra. I was engaged in the investigation of sensitive issues that had occurred in 1997. I presented the case of the murder called the 'Glina murder' in 1997, an armed criminal group with an extension in the Vorë-Tepelena axis had created a mechanism to rob Albanian citizens who worked and lived in Greece, and trapped them at the border point. One of the members posed as a taxi driver and his accomplices waited for him on the street. Four Albanian citizens were killed by this group. The perpetrators have been identified and all have been convicted, I have requested a 'life sentence' for the perpetrator.
Two other cases are related to the kidnapping of businessmen. Two businessmen were kidnapped, one in the village of Peshkopi and one in the city of Gjirokastra. They kidnapped them for a period of 9-18 days, exercised psychological and physical violence. Forcing them to open their graves in order to receive the requested monetary amounts, which were 100 million drams," said Adnand Xholi.
