The race for the new head of SPAK has begun, while the big question is who will succeed him. The US remains committed to overseeing the work of the new judiciary.
Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli tells Top Story that the process for electing the new SPAK chairman has started off in a toxic way, while emphasizing that the candidates will spread strange stories about each other in the media.
"The process has started poisoned with the evaluation of candidates, where the law precisely defines the role of the rapporteur. The rapporteur's task was to prepare the materials. The secret was that Mr. Stojani, precisely in order not to become a party to this issue, withdrew from the process. This fact alone shows that the process is poisoned. In a small country like Albania, the role of the individual is extraordinary. His integrity can make winter or summer in the institution. It can separate good from evil.
"All the important actors and factors in politics, we are talking about those who have weight... There is a lot of attention, both from the majority and the opposition, who are very interested in who will be the successor to Duman, whom they hate with all their heart, both from the business world and from the media world. Don't be surprised if strange stories from the candidates appear in the media. Different media segments will be used, which will infiltrate information to the detriment of each candidate ," says Vangjeli.
