Poisoning of citizens, how the situation appears in the Dibra hospital; water tests are awaited

The situation from poisoning is moving towards normalization. During last night, so far, about 15 cases have been presented to the emergency department of the Dibër Regional Hospital, while about 10 cases have been presented to the pediatrics department with the same symptoms of abdominal pain and vomiting.

The area they come from is supplied with drinking water from the Saponika water supply system, so the suspicions are mainly about the contamination of the drinking water.

On the part of the Local Health Care Unit, water samples were taken and the first microbial analyses, which came out negative. Today, the results of the bacteriological tests taken for analysis at the national laboratory in Tirana are expected.

Since yesterday, the institutions have notified the residents of the Kastriot, Fushë Çidhan, Arras, and part of the Tomin Unit villages not to consume the water, or to boil it before use.
