Ermal Hoxha appeared at SPAK on Monday at noon. The Special Prosecutor's Office has not provided details on the reasons for Hoxha's summons and there is still no official version of his summons.
The grandson of the former dictator Enver Hoxha was convicted for the Xibraka laboratory. The Xibraka file was reopened in 2024 after a public denunciation made by Gazmend Bardhi. But as the sources indicate, it was not for the Xibraka file.
We recall that the Serious Crimes Appeal sentenced Ermal Hoxha to 6 years and 8 months; Ilir Hysenin with 8 years; Colombians Cesar Avila with 8 years; Valter Moreno with 8 years; Gentian Gjonajn with 7 years and 8 months; Kelmend Dalipin 7 years and 4 months; Sajmir Batkun with 8 years and 8 months; Arjan Dalipin with 7 years and 4 months and Genci Xhixhan with 8 years and 8 months, the latter was sentenced in absentia.
The "Xibraka" drug group was discovered in January 2015, during a police operation assisted by German police agents, where a record amount of 100 kg of cocaine was seized. The drugs were found in a warehouse in the village of Xibrakë, 10 km from the city of Elbasan. Eight people were arrested in and near the drug warehouse, among them the head of the group Sajmir Batku, the grandson of former dictator Enver Hoxha, Ermal Hoxha and two Colombian citizens.
Genci Xhixha, who is known as the head of a powerful cocaine trafficking network in Europe and beyond, was declared wanted. The investigations started after the information forwarded by the German authorities on 17.12.2014, about cocaine traffic from Albania to Germany.
