The GJKKO appeal rejected the request of former President Ilir Meta, who has been in prison since October 2024 at the request of SPAK.
The President of the PL has been charged with passive corruption, money laundering, concealment of assets, and forgery of seals and stamps, and his case has been sent to trial.
It will be Judge Irena Gjoka who will decide whether or not this file will go to trial in a regular process, while Meta is insisting on changing the security measure, but also on replacing the preliminary judge, who must evaluate the acts of the Special Prosecution.
"We will continue with the requests for the replacement of the security measure," said Kujtim Cakrani, Ilir Meta's lawyer, after the Appeals Court of Kosovo rejected the request for the former President's release from prison.
Cakrani said that whether prosecutors or judges are wrong if they think they can make fun of us, warning of the continuation of the legal battle.
