Artan Hoxha spoke about the request of SPAK, for the prison or house arrest of Sali Berisha, this request was approved by the Mandate Council today.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Hoxha said that SPAK had no other way, after the constant challenge that Berisha gave him, by not appearing before the judicial police officer.
"Berisha's lawyers claimed that SPAK should have addressed the Assembly from the beginning. On the other hand, prosecutors and deputies insisted that we do not judge the case, but Berisha violated the court's decisions and we are for that.
If Berisha had appeared at the prosecutor's office, even from the beginning, we would have had a different course. Berisha would have benefited more politically and medially, by facing the prosecutors in the courtroom. The path that Berisha chose was to ignore him. Public opinion was questioning SPAK, because SPAK was not reacting.
Berisha said the Constitution was violated, but that was a court decision. A court decision is overturned only by the decision of a higher court. Or SPAK should have done this from the beginning, but the court has approved what we did. Secondly, SPAK says we are going to this measure because we have no other choice", Hoxha said among other things.
