Former President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, will face new charges from the Special Prosecution Office. The warning was made by journalist Anduena Llabani, according to whom the new charges against Meta may be related to serious criminal offenses.
The journalist did not mention what crimes she was referring to, but added that the legal position of the leader of the Freedom Party, as well as the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, is not expected to be eased.
From the News24 studio, Llabani said that regarding Meta, SPAK is working to collect information for new charges.
"There will be new charges against Meta for serious criminal offenses, for which the SPK is currently working and collecting information."
For Veliaj, as we speak today, there are 13 charges that SPAK has been working on for years. A faction of Veliaj also has connections to his family.
"The legal positions of the two former officials cannot be eased. Even the fact that they are trying to bring up the fact that the sessions should have been open or give interviews, this did not exist before. A political show is being made that can help them in the process. There are voices that are making insinuations to make the issue more serious," she said.
