SHISH has rejected the information requested by the former judge as it is classified secret.
An unusual legal battle has taken place between former GJKKO judge Marsela Balili and the State Intelligence Service at the Tirana First Instance Administrative Court. The former judge has raised suspicions that former Chief Prosecutor Ina Rama, a member of the Special Appeals Chamber, is a spy for the State Intelligence Service.
Ms. Balili says that Ms. Rama was exposed as a SHISH collaborator when the full list of SHISH collaborators, including 1,895 people, was published by hackers.
Based on this indication, Marsela Balili has requested official information from SHISH regarding Ina Rama's connection to the institution of secrets. SHISH has refused the information requested by the former judge as it is classified as secret. Under these conditions, the former judge has requested the Commissioner for the Right to Information to order SHISH to provide the information, claiming that this information is no longer secret, due to the publication of the list of collaborators.
The Commissioner for the Right to Information has concluded that the requested information is secret and as such cannot be made available. Former judge Marsela Balili has requested the Administrative Court to dismiss SHISH and the Commissioner, but her lawsuit has not been accepted by the court.
