Journalist Mentor Kikia was invited to 'Çdokënd' where, among other things, he commented on the statement of the Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, who, during the press conference with Prime Minister Rama in Tirana, stated that the May 11 elections were free and fair.
Kikia stated that for the first time in Brussels there is great goodwill for Albania, but such statements do not heal the wounds of the elections, they are neither realistic nor correct.
"In Brussels there is an extraordinary kindness, there is a friendly political climate towards Albania that has never been there before and towards any country. This means that Albania no longer has arguments with phobias, but has an exaggerated love."
This is a chance we have to join the EU. And this flag is waved by Kos. Beyond the affection she shows for the prime minister, her statements are not realistic, correct to reality. The one about the elections today was a crack.
The ODIHR report could have been more critical, but it was still an alarm bell. And this bell should ring for us, but also in Brussels where standards are monitored closely. To say that the elections were free and fair takes a certain amount of courage.
"We don't need hypocritical attitudes like the commissioner's because it's not true. We want to heal the wound and not cover it with a blanket," Kikia said on A2 CNN.
