"There was information that the town hall was going to burn", the

Journalist Eni Ferhati spoke about yesterday's protest held by the opposition.

Ferhati, who followed the protest from the field, told Euronews Albania that the police had received information that there would be an attempt to burn down the town hall, so the most measures taken by the police were in that area, while at the headquarters of the Socialist Party, the measures received were minimal.

According to Ferhat, the police were lucky yesterday as they managed to catch three bags of unexploded Molotov in time.

" The police also had a very big luck. When the protesters moved towards the municipality of Tirana, during the physical confrontation between the police and the protesters, two bags with 17 unexploded Molotov cocktails were found after they fell to the ground. They were immediately seized by the police. The biggest fear and the biggest police forces were at the Municipality of Tirana, because there was also information from the information service, that the crowd would intend to burn down the Municipality of Tirana. There was no information about the burning of the Socialist Party Headquarters. There were minimal police measures at the headquarters, because it was not thought that there would be a protest there. In addition to two bags with 17 Molotov bombs, another bag with 8 unexploded Molotov bombs was found somewhere between the area of the Ministry of Interior and the Parliament , he said.

Ferhati also focused on the mistakes made by the police in this protest.

" I noticed two mistakes by the police. The first mistake was when the police did not take measures to avoid a confrontation between the protesters and the citizens, here I refer to the moment when the crowd, after settling in the prime minister's office, marched in the direction of the ring road and entered the road that leads to the socialist party or Myslym intersection Shyrit and the Supreme Court. It was a moment where he was afraid of both the police and the protesters, as there could be a conflict between the citizens who remained in the traffic and the protesters. This is a mistake by the police, which I suspect was intentional, because the information was that the protest would be mobile. The second moment is the indiscriminate, unreasonable and illogical use of tear gas. There was no violent action, as soon as they approached the protesters, tear gas was fired several times. There was traffic there. A child had a serious problem from this gas ," said the journalist.
