"Crime heads in the VIP stand", Artan Hoxha tells how he went from a

Journalist Artan Hoxha confessed tonight in "Opinion" how he started his career as a black chronicle journalist. Surprisingly, in 1995 he wrote about sports, which he also has a passion for. His vigilance and curiosity made him investigate the first movements of the exponents of crime in Albania.

- When did you start journalism?

Artan Hoxha:  Like it or not, I use it as an expression that I grew up with what today in Albania is called 'organized crime'. I have seen it from the beginning, embryo…

-In what year did you start writing?

Artan Hoxha:  Since 1995. I started as a sports journalist and it is a passion.

- That's why you go to the stadium.

Artan Hoxha:  I follow matches, even in the lower categories. I do it with great pleasure.

-How did you go from sports to chronicles?

Artan Hoxha:  At that time, the biggest sports newspaper in the country was "Sport express". I started there and covered Dinamo. But it was on the first floor of the building that burned down. We often sat there with the chronicle journalists. Because I was curious and watched football matches, I was very attracted to the VIP stands. It was the time when politicians, MPs came... When the clubs were moving, money was needed. Characters were introduced who were creating the underworld. They went to the VIP stand. This started to catch my eye. I talked about it with my colleagues, and they used it as an excuse, telling me "hey, you know them so well, why don't you write?" That's where I started the first stories.
