The focus of the show "Opinion" this Tuesday was Albanian crime and where they are investing. The well-known journalist Artan Hoxha was invited to speak about this issue.
The journalist said that today Albanian organized crime and corruption are very present. According to him, based on international reports, a good part of the Albanian economy, about 40%, is informal.
Artan Hoxha emphasized that last year 12 billion Euros were exchanged only at currency exchange points.
" Last year, 12 billion Euros were exchanged only at currency exchange points, i.e. outside the banking system. We know how much the government budget is in a year. Only at the currency exchange points and I don't believe that this 12 billion has been broken by tourists because this would have given us a feedback on the entire tourist hospitality infrastructure, the hotel and all that. So 12 billion Euros were stolen at the currency exchange points, that is, outside the banking system. Of course, we are dealing with a huge amount for the capacities that Albania has today ", said Hoxha.
When asked about the biggest areas where crime invests, Hoxha said that construction is the most visible.
