The new civil air corridors have now been opened, which will also enable direct air travel between Albania and Kosovo.
Officially, the airlines for Tirana-Prishtina flights have been opened since January 24.
This is a new development which will not only normalize civil aviation traffic, but also shorten air travel from Tirana to Pristina by 8 to 12 minutes.
"The new routes will positively impact civil aviation and provide significant benefits, including shorter flight times, lower fuel consumption and reduced pollution," the announcement said.
For Kosovo government officials, the shortening of flight trajectories makes Pristina airport more competitive, but it also translates into lower flight costs, lower expenses for airlines and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
