The rains and storms of recent days have created a problematic situation in several regions of the country, where embankments have burst, homes have been flooded, and residents have been evacuated.
Anira Gjoni, from the Institute of Geosciences, said on 'Studio Live' that the rainfall will continue throughout the day in all regions, while it will be intense in the regions of Vlora and Gjirokastër.
John underlined that in these regions there may also be an increase in the water level in the rivers.
' The rainfall will be intense in the Vlora and Gjirokastra regions and problems may arise regarding the increase in the level of the rivers that pass through these areas. Tomorrow there will be average rainfall in the regions of Kukës, Dibër, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana and Elbasan and it will be in the form of thunderstorms, while in the rest of the regions it will be average ,' said Gjoni.
John also revealed which rivers are at critical levels.
' The problem regarding the increase in river flows is in the Shkumbin, Seman, Mat and Vjosa rivers, the situation remains critical in these rivers, as there will be an increase due to the continuation of rainfall in these areas ,' she said.
While saying that the rainfall will continue throughout the weekend, John informed that there will then be a break to resume next week, but with a lower intensity.
'The rain will continue until the 23rd, then there will be a break and then it will start next week but not with the intensity that it has been these days,' said Gjoni.
