Kosovo held early parliamentary elections yesterday, with Albin Kurti's Vetevendosje Movement leading convincingly.
Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu on Report TV, while commenting on the electoral process, said that the process is to be commended.
Spahiu stressed that Kosovo could enter a phase where Kurti will stay in power even longer than Prime Minister Edi Rama. According to Spahiu, such a situation risks creating a fragile democracy in Kosovo.
" The electoral process is to be congratulated. Albin Kurti, with his ideology, was able to transform his party into a completely populist one, destroying other parties. The negative aspect is that Kosovo could enter a process where Albin Kurti will last longer than Edi Rama in power. I see Albin Kurti and Vetëvendosje even after 8 years in power, unless there are extraordinary events."
"We will have a fragile democracy because political pluralism is also breaking down there. The future and stability of Kosovo with a majority that will no longer be fragile enough to be overthrown in 4 years is positive ," he said.
