Journalist Klodiana Lala has made a balance sheet of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) for 2025. She emphasized that SPAK has had both positive and negative results this year. Lala said that part of the success is the fact that we have a former prime minister, a former president, a deputy prime minister, and criminal groups in prison and under investigation.
The negative part, according to Lala, was that of the Tirana incinerator and the sterilization concession.
"SPAK, of course I have supported it in cases where the old politics have come together by insulting and slandering and intimidating prosecutors and judges. SPAK has made significant steps, we have a former prime minister, a former president, a deputy prime minister, and then criminal groups. SPAK also has some balance sheets that have not been up to par, for example the sterilization concession where there was a clash within the structure. The Tirana incinerator, there is a big minus there, but maybe they will recover it.
For 2025, Meta was sent to trial. The two important blows, the arrest of Veliaj in February, defendant on 13 charges. The other blow is the deputy prime minister. There has been a blow to organized crime, Ervis Çela and Franc Çopja, considered the largest Albanian organization that has operated in Latin America, Europe and Albania.
