Diplomat Agim Nesho said that the measure of the Special Prosecutor's Office to summon the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, to testify about a case of one of his subordinates, is probably a bit excessive at this pre-election moment.
He said that until today Kurti is the most untainted by corruption in Kosovo. Agim Nesho said that he heard about the previous governments that inside the cabinet they cooked half an ox for other people, as well as bought land for 2 or 3 dollars.
"In fact, Kurti is the man known as the most untainted compared to the previous administrations. I have heard the most surprising things, where up to the kitchen inside the government institutions where half an ox was cooked for others, where lands were bought from the main authorities for 2 dollars and 3 dollars. We have not heard this about Kurti.
As for the concrete issue, it is an investigation that is being conducted against a member of the government, where they want to take the prime minister as a witness. This is done before the election situation. There are many segments, political life is known, and we Albanians like to point the finger that the political opponent is corrupt.
If the argument of the prime minister's call is simply a statement of facts, a solution could have been found. Under the conditions, it will probably show that the measure they have taken is much more than a measure for cooperation", said Nesho for "A2 CNN".
