Monika Kryemadhi has appealed in the appeal of the Special Court the lifting of the seizure of the evidence seized by SPAK in relation to SPAK's investigations into LSI's lobbying in the USA.
The object of this investigation is the payments made in the amount of 300 thousand USD, by the former LSI, for the visit of Ilir Meta and Petri Vasili to the inauguration of Donald Trump as president in 2017.
We remind you that in connection with the lobbying investigations, on July 21 of last year, the former chairman of LSI, now the Freedom Party, Petrit Vasili, was summoned by SPAK, while in April 2023, Endrit Braimllari, former - member of the LSI.
SPAK's investigations started for corruption and forgery of documents, without naming the suspect, after the report of the former MP Halit Valteri, who accused the party led at the time by Ilir Meta, of having paid 700 thousand dollars for lobbying in the USA, including visits to the USA and a photo with former Republican President Donald Trump.
On May 16, 2022, the Austrian newspaper "Kronen Zeitung" published an article stating that Meta paid $700,000 for lobbying through a Cypriot company to secure the photo at Trump's inauguration ceremony.
