A protest in support of the Palestinians in Gaza is taking place this afternoon in Skanderbeg Square in Tirana.
Present at this protest is the world-renowned Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, who arrived in Tirana this Wednesday.
In her statement, the Swedish activist highlighted the alarming humanitarian situation in Gaza, stating that Palestinians are in the fifth stage of malnutrition and are using their last forces to seek world awareness.
"Gaza has entered the fifth stage of malnutrition that is irreversible, while thousands of trucks are waiting to enter and this is a direct consequence of the world's silence that allowed Israel to commit this genocidal act. This is a continuation of Israel's illegal policies that have destroyed bakeries to continue its hunger campaign against Gaza."
"Gaza is officially in the fifth phase of famine. This news is devastating. This is a path of no return. This is not just a humanitarian crisis, it is a crime," the activist declared from Tirana.
Since October 2023, Palestinians in Gaza have been facing successive Israeli attacks. The situation is alarming, as not only weapons but also hunger are killing.
