Journalist Klodiana Lala, speaking about the endless extension of the investigation into containers with suspected toxic substances from the "Kurum" company by the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, stated that this investigation should be taken over by SPAK in order to be credible.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Lala said that the Albanian state has no interest in this issue being clarified and that is why there have been obstacles.
" This is international traffic and for the investigation to be credible it must be taken over by SPAK, but there must also be international cooperation. The ship has traveled from Albania to Thailand and from Thailand to Albania. It is thought that the containers were also opened in Turkey. The prosecution would have found a laboratory if the state had the will. The Durrës prosecution cannot handle this issue. We in Albania do not have a laboratory and expert of this level. Even the AKB, which is certified, has not taken over because it claims that it cannot perform these analyses.
The Albanian state has no interest in clarifying this issue. It involves a number of institutions. If the Albanian government wants, a laboratory abroad will be hired and the answer will come in three weeks.
The Durrës Prosecutor's Office must declare its lack of jurisdiction. This case is a transnational crime, has involvement in several countries and should have been taken over from the beginning by SPAK. For this to happen, an act from the prosecutor of the case is required.
Anyone who has a direct interest can contact SPAK and request an investigation from this institution. SPAK should have taken it up from the beginning. An organization is needed to put it into motion. For example, for Sterilization, it was put into motion by Pano Soko and “Nisma Thurje ”, said Lala.
