Journalist Klodiana Lala and analyst Neritan Sejamini debated about the source of the money with which tens of towers are being built in Tirana or resorts on the coast.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Sejamini said that in 2019 in Albania, 500-750 million euros were cleaned and that today they may have reached over one billion euros.
While the journalist Klodiana Lala stated that there are cases when there are subcontractors with administrators convicted of drug trafficking and that the authorities have turned a blind eye to the unauthorized floors in the center of "Skënderbej" Square.

Neritan Sejamini: There is a consensus that the amounts invested in construction and used to buy apartments do not come from the banking sector.
They do not come from the legal economy, where they come from we can speculate. The hypothesis is that they come from illegal drug trafficking. None of the economic data justifies this kind of construction boom. There was another study, by a serious organization of journalists against international organized crime, in Albania we cleaned 500-750 million euros. It is in 2019. Today they may have reached over one billion euros. It is the tower that Mrs. Lala said is under investigation. The source of the money is unknown. It's not even the towers that are being sold.
Ylli Rakipi: There are towers that have been built, they are finished, there are also in the process and they are not investigated. Why not?
Neritan Sejamini : I can say that all the economic indicators make you think that the financing of this economic activity comes from sources outside the legal economy. It is not explained by economic factors. The hypothesis is that they come from drug trafficking.
Klodiana Lala : Regarding the towers, there must be a will from the justice institutions to investigate. Companies get building permits and there are exponentially increased permits, no end of building permits. Suddenly you see in the middle of Tirana, ten floors without permission. Institutions are nowhere. Right in "Skënderbej" Square, many floors are being built without permission. The officials close their eyes and do not see that there are many floors without permission in the "Syri i Tirana" tower. Everyone has been silent. It is enough for a prosecutor to open this investigation, who are the officials who allowed it. There are cases when they are subcontractors with administrators convicted of drug trafficking.
