Acromax CEO Aldor Nini, and IT expert Eljon Heta, discussed the closure of TikTok in the United States.
Invited to the "Opinion" column on News24, Aldor Nini stated that the return of the application has begun in America after guarantees given by President-elect Donald Trump that companies associated with it will not be subject to investigations.
Meanwhile, Eljon Heta has considered the whole thing more as a political war than a security problem.
Excerpts from the studio discussion:
Nini : After 12 hours of shutdown, TikTok will return to the US. Trump has given guarantees that the companies involved will not be involved in the investigations. We have had some interesting information that some Albanian users have also had TikTok blocked as if they were in America.
Heta : There may be cases where they were using American VPNs. It's not a block from the US but from TikTok alone. They have issued a notice that they will be blocked. They have thanked Trump for leaving a communication window open regarding the resolution of the issue.
Nini : There is a very old law that defines 4 countries as enemies of America, North Korea, Iran, China, Russia and any trade with these countries is defined. This directive has now been extended to online platforms. If platforms that have more than 20 percent of the shares of one of these countries
Heta : I perceive it more as a political war than a security problem.
Nini : TikTok claims that it is not a Chinese company, as it was founded in Singapore. The Chinese state is a financier, not an owner. After all, the US decision is that the application is Chinese and the data of American users can be used by this state.
