The Special Anticorruption Court rejected Erzen Breçan's request to change the security measure from "imprisonment" to another measure, with the claim that his life in the cell was at risk due to his health condition.
For Brecan, two acts were made by the experts and both were overthrown by the black squads.
He claimed he had heart problems and suffered from claustrophobia.
In the end, GJKKO decided that Brecani should stay in the cell until the end of the investigations.
The former deputy director of the Tirana Police was arrested in November 2023 by order of the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, under the suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of "supporting the perpetrator of the crime" and "money laundering".
In addition to Breçan, by order of SPAK, Dedan Gjoni, the former head of crimes at police station number 6, Bujar Ajeti and Besmir Murtati were also arrested.
A few days ago, the Supreme Court dismissed the request of the latter for the security measure.
In November 2023, SPAK issued 11 arrest warrants, where Erzen's son, Eralbi Breçani and Ervin Mata are wanted.
