The Traffic Police has fined thousands of drivers who violated traffic rules.
In implementation of the "ROADPOL" operational plan, throughout the country, during the past week, 1,512 vehicle drivers who used mobile phones while driving and 6,364 vehicle drivers who were speeding over the allowed rates were identified and punished.

"ROADPOL" operational plan, for identifying and punishing drivers who use mobile phones while driving, drive at speeds exceeding the allowed rates and commit other violations that are a source of involvement in road incidents. Traffic Police services throughout the country, while monitoring traffic in urban centers and on national road axes, using intelligent tools, have found a series of violations with a high risk of involvement in road accidents. In implementation of the "ROADPOL" operational plan, throughout the country, during the past week, 1,512 vehicle drivers who used mobile phones while driving and 6,364 vehicle drivers who were speeding over the allowed rates were identified and punished.
Also, 22,500 administrative measures have been imposed for wrong passing, for not wearing a seat belt by drivers of vehicles or protective helmets by drivers of motor vehicles and for violating other traffic rules.
As a result of the monitoring, 30 vehicle drivers were identified and arrested for driving while intoxicated or without a driving license;
- 74 driving licenses have been suspended, mainly for speeding beyond the permitted limits and for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Traffic Police will intensify monitoring, using Poliscan intelligent tools, automatic radars and all the logistic base at its disposal. The police appeal to all road users to strictly follow traffic rules, as all roads are monitored by smart vehicles and mobile patrols of the Road Police.
