The Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, has spoken about the discrepancy in the figures for the diaspora vote on the official CEC website, which has sparked reactions.
According to the figures, there are more votes counted than there are votes in total. Celibashi said that both figures are correct, but emphasizes that the lower figure shows the number of scanned envelopes, where envelope B is missing.
"The numbers there are real figures, but they reflect data that are not in contradiction with each other. The number of ballots evaluated, with the figure that results as lower on the CEC website, the latter has to do with those envelopes that are automatically administered in the CEC electronic system.
"But there are quite a few submissions by Albanian voters to the CEC that were not made properly. They sent the ballot paper inserted in envelope A and not in envelope B, but it arrived at the CEC as a vote," Celibashi told "Euronews Albania".
