Media in mourning, "VOA" journalist Rudina Dervishi passes away

Rudina Dervishi, the well-known journalist and host of the TV show "Diary" of the Voice of America, has passed away at the age of 53, after a two-year battle with breast cancer.

Her premature departure is a great loss for her family and her colleagues at the Voice of America Albanian Service.

For more than 25 years, Rudina made a valuable contribution with her professionalism as a passionate journalist, covering diverse topics from economics, politics, human and women's rights, to art.

We, her VOA colleagues, will remember Rudina for her insight, dynamism, humor and dedication.

She left behind her husband, three sons and her mother.
