The Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, in a press conference, gave details about the anti-drug mega-operation that took place from Tirana to Vlora.
23 drug distribution groups were destroyed in Tirana, Durrës, Korçë, Elbasan and Vlorë, in the police operation codenamed "Temple".
Rrumbullaku, in an appearance before the media about the anti-drug mega-operation that led to the arrest of about 233 people across the country, stated that this operation was carried out in the framework of the "war on the sale of narcotics near school premises".
"Megaoperation "Tempulli", 829 kg of cannabis were seized in 8 months, in the form of chocolate, 61 kg of cocaine, 15 kg of heroin and 15 kg of ecstasy. More than 1,000 citizens were arrested, detained and processed in a free state. 296 security measures, prison arrests, 356 house checks, 214 security measures, red-handed arrest of 19 people, 82 wanted, are part of 23 criminal groups. Cocaine, heroin, cannabis, weapons, phones, considerable money were seized..." he said.
According to the director of the State Police, 23 criminal networks have been destroyed in all regions of the country and a dangerous source of damage to the health of the youngest has been neutralized.
"Even in this mega operation, there was a high degree of risk, but the professionalism was maximum. The State Police is on the verge of finalizing other national and international mega-operations", Rrumbullaku added.
Operation Temple:
More than 200 people have been arrested in the framework of an anti-drug mega-operation that is taking place in several cities of the country, the Ministry of the Interior said today.
The mega-operation is being carried out by RENEA and FNSH forces in Tirana, where the largest number of arrestees is around 70 people and over 120 arrest warrants. Controls are also being carried out in Elbasan, Fier, Shkodër and Durrës, where there are dozens of arrests.

Burimet thonë se gjithashtu janë kapur qindra doza kanabisi dhe shuma të mëdha parash, ndërsa në këtë veprimtari kriminale ka të përfshira edhe vajza.
Mësohet se është sekuestruar edhe kokainë, peshimi i të cilës nuk është bërë akoma për shkak të vijimësisë së operacionit. Ndërkohë gjatë tij është konstatuar edhe një lloj droge e re e cila vinte nga jashtë, kryesisht me postë, një lloj droge xhelatinoze.
