Renowned actor Mehdi Malkaj, at the protest held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, delivered a speech with strong tones against the government and the political class.
During his speech, Malkaj referred to the former debate about the demolition of the National Theater, recalling a conversation that, according to him, he had had regarding Prime Minister Edi Rama's determination to realize that project.
"He once told me that he had made up his mind about the prime minister that he would ruin the theater. I told him why he didn't make up his mind not to ruin it. If he made up his mind that he would still stay, woe to him," the actor said.
Malkaj called on citizens to react and not accept, according to him, the injustices of those in power over the years.
"I try with all my heart and soul to forgive my love. O people wherever you are, come here because he loved without measure. He once told me that he had made up his mind about the prime minister that he would ruin the theater. I told him why don't you make up your mind not to ruin it. If he makes up his mind that he will still stay, woe to him. It will always be done as you say, there is no discussion. What I have observed all these years.
The Albanian people are lying on their stomachs, and all those who have been in power have wiped their filth on their backs. We must stand on our feet. On our feet. And let them pass by and wipe our shoes on the backs of those filth. Dear friends, you have noticed that it is a piecemeal deal. The other is selling Albania as he wants. Albania is the property of the Albanians. It is our property. We must take care of it. Let's not look at the filth on the streets. That's how it is. They have trampled on an entire people. We will do as we want," Malkaj said.
