Several criminal groups dismantled, Nuredin Dumani's agreement with justice

Nuredin Dumani's agreement with justice is revealed.

After being transferred to the prison hospital, in the presence of the former Director General of Police and the former Director of Crimes, he expressed his willingness to cooperate, promising to solve the crimes, the files of which had been gathering dust for years.

"It is no secret that there was double information, which went in different directions, both towards those who sought his elimination and towards law enforcement authorities. In these conditions, he became aware of the fact that everything had to stop there and requested the cooperation of justice," said Artan Simoni, Nuredin Dumani's lawyer.

"The testimony of the collaborator of justice serves to convict the persons being tried, but cannot serve as the only evidence to convict the suspects being tried in this criminal process. Of course, the testimony of the collaborator of justice must be accompanied by other material evidence, or other investigative actions that match," said Artan Simoni, Nuredin Dumani's lawyer.

The information was immediately forwarded to SPAK. Three prosecutors, Altin Dumani, Doloreza Musabelliu and Behar Dibra, listened to his confessions for two weeks. On May 18, 2022, they offered Dumani the status of a justice collaborator.

Inside Story has exclusively obtained an audio confession from the associate of justice, Nuredin Dumani. In this authentic testimony, published for the first time in the media, Dumani confesses that the first crime he committed was the sale of a weapon. This moment marked his entry into a path of no return.

After being ambushed, he felt betrayed and unsure of his life. This led him to decide to destroy the groups he once served. He has spoken about the betrayal and entrapment in marathon court hearings.

"I had no information that day about where Talo Çela was. I communicated constantly with Henriku. We were not for Talo Çela but for Oti Kila. I was in a stolen X5. We took two cans with silencers, a Zastava pistol. At the Cërriku turn, I saw several cars, one took a picture of me. I pulled behind, I didn't notice the other car coming. At one point I saw that they were shooting at me with guns. I saw 3 people, two shooting and the driver. I gave the car gas, when they shot a second time, the bullets caught me."

Dumani revealed that he participated in 17 criminal incidents. Murder, attempted murder, robbery, etc. He also took it upon himself to tell about other people who 'conspired' with him, as hired killers.

'The person under investigation, Nuredin Dumani, undertakes to cooperate with the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime by testifying and providing complete information without any reservation or condition on all facts, events and circumstances that serve as decisive evidence for the discovery, investigation and trial of all serious crimes committed by him and all his associates.'

Dumani has also agreed to identify assets of criminal origin that are in his possession and those of related persons. He must testify in any case requested by the prosecution and the court. If he is not honest in his testimony, point 5 of the plea agreement states that he may also lose his status.

'This Cooperation Agreement may be revoked by the prosecution when it is proven that the justice collaborator makes false statements, holds reservations regarding facts, events and circumstances that he is proven to have knowledge of, or when he intentionally violates the conditions set forth in this act-agreement.'

"Unlike other justice collaborators, elements were found in his statements which, based on a testimony, he requested that evidence be extracted from different elements."

Following Dumani's testimony, SPAK issued 32 arrest warrants, including some of the most wanted individuals in Albanian organized crime. The case, which is now in the trial phase, includes 20 defendants. This is a trial that is being considered one of the most important and voluminous for SPAK, similar to the former maxi-trials of the Italian mafia.

"The case in which Nuredin Dumani, who has agreed to cooperate with justice, is part of a trial and is continuing, while another part of it is in the investigative process, which we cannot talk about today," said Vladimir Mara, SPAK Prosecutor. /Inside Story
