Ilir Proda's police continue their repression against the residents of Rrjoll who oppose the construction of a Bashkim Ulaj resort, claiming that their lands are being seized through a process of forgery.
Police wearing spacesuits and shields have been assaulting residents as protests continue.
Reports indicate that a 60-year-old man, identified as Prekë Molla, has been arrested by the police, while 5 other people aged between 20 and 40 have been declared wanted, on suspicion of having prevented 'Gener2' employees and vehicles from continuing their work.
The police announce that investigations are ongoing, with the aim of identifying and detaining all persons involved, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
Meanwhile, residents have appealed to Albana Koçiu, the Minister of Interior, not to send police forces against citizens and in defense of Bashkim Ulaj.
They have pledged to protect the land at all costs and not allow the theft of property by Ulaj.
" Albana Koçiu has brought the police to protect Bashkim Ulaj. The minister has brought all the police here to protect Bashkim Ulaj from residents whose lands are being stolen."
Bashkim Ulaj and Isuf Çela have told us themselves that 'we do not want to come as invaders, but as developers'. What are you doing today, Bashkim Ulaj, besides coming to invade us? Are you doing something else?
Serbia and Turkey did not do this to us, steal our land. You are doing it because you have the state behind you. But we are also strong, because we are with God's right and right always triumphs.
"They escorted us yesterday. We still have the girl escorted. One of the boys who tried to take her by force fainted. All the police rushed in. These police have knocked me down because I am a woman. They have now come to protect Bashkim Ulaj and rape us on our land ," said one of the residents of Rrjoll.
Residents are asking the Minister of Interior not to place the State Police at the service of Bashkim Ulaj, while warning of escalation of actions if they are not taken seriously.
